Our Confucius class has had a successful opening. On Friday, May 20, the Czech round organized an international competition in Chinese language skills, Chinese Bridge. Twenty-one competitors took part in the 21st year of the competition with the common motto One World, One Family. The beautiful atmosphere of the competition was enhanced by the dance performances of students Di Xiaoqian and He Siyuan with Qi Qi from the partner Palacky University in Olomouc, and the choir of our pupils from Chinese families, who improve in their class in their native language.
Thank you very much for help and support at the University of Technology and Economics in České Budějovice, led by Rector Vojtěch Stehel, and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Prague headed by Chargé d´ Affaires, Mr. Zhang Maoming, and Mr. Jing Yupeng, Head of Embassy Education. And of course to all the fan clubs competing and the guests present for the excellent atmosphere!
The jury had a hard time because all the performances were excellent! The winner was the only foreign participant, doctoral student of Charles University in Prague Subash Parajuli, who comes from Nepal. We are very happy that our student Václav Žák, who also accompanies our choir on his beloved cello, took one second place. Congratulations!
We have only words of praise at the event and we believe that other upcoming events and workshops in our class will be just as successful as the 21st year of the competition Chinese Bridge.
