Thanks to our long-term cooperation with partner universities, we regularly organise exchange visits and meetings. These events include tours of university campuses, presentations of study programmes and sharing of relevant information. These meetings are held with the aim of strengthening our cooperation and expanding opportunities for academic exchanges, including teacher exchanges.
10.9.2024 Language Cooperation Center and Chinese International Education Foundation in Beijing
Language Cooperation Center (LCC)
Beijing Language and Cultural Center for Diplomatic Missions (LCC) is an institution providing language services. LCC specializes in teaching Chinese as a second language and offering content-based cultural courses.
Over the past six decades since its inception in 1956, LCC has attracted students from over 100 countries, including former US president George Bush senior, former Indian president Kocheril Raman Narayanan and over 300 ambassadors. Since 1983, we have also been sending teachers to the Royal Palace of Thailand to teach Chinese to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
In addition to regular Chinese courses, LCC also offers specialized Chinese courses covering a number of subjects including diplomacy, politics, technology, culture, and art. Besides, LCC offers cultural tours in various forms all year round, taking students to experience the beauty of Chinese culture.
Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF)
The Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF), based in Beijing, is a non-governmental organization committed to promoting Chinese language and culture globally. It oversees the establishment and operation of Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms, providing support for their activities, curricula, and development. The foundation works closely with foreign educational institutions to foster Chinese language education and cultural understanding. Through its programs, the CIEF aims to create strong international partnerships and facilitate cross-cultural dialogue, while promoting a modern and inclusive image of Chinese education.
11.9.2024 Suzhou University
Soochow University, also known as Suzhou University, is a prestigious institution located in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Founded in 1900, it is one of the oldest modern universities in the country. The university has a rich history, originally established by Methodist missionaries, and was one of the first in China to offer law degrees and publish a university journal. Over the years, Soochow University has expanded, merging with several other institutions and re-establishing itself as a comprehensive and highly respected university.
Today, Soochow University is recognized as a top-tier institution in China, part of the “Project 211” initiative aimed at strengthening higher education in the country. The university has over 41,000 students and offers a wide range of programs across its 30 schools, including the Kenneth Wang School of Law, the School of Business, and the School of Architecture
12.9.2024 Higher Vocational and Technical College of Shanghai University of Engineering Science
As one of the higher education institutions, Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) integrates and coordinates engineering, economics, management, art, design, and other disciplines. SUES is one of the first batches of pilot universities under the Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program of the Ministry of Education, the pioneer of Emerging Engineering Education and High-level Application-oriented Universities in Shanghai. Since 2017, SUES has been applying to be a doctoral degree-awarding institution in Shanghai.
The Shanghai University of Engineering Science was established in 1985, based on the Mechanical and Electrical Branch of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Branch of Shanghai Institute of Chemical Technology (incorporated into Mechanical and Electrical Branch of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1984), and Branch of Shanghai Textile Institute of Technology (renamed as East China Textile Institute of Technology in 1980). In 2003, the Shanghai Technician School (founded in 1951) was merged into Shanghai University of Engineering Science.
13.9.2024 Shanghai University of International Business and Economics
Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (formerly known as the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade) was founded in 1960 as one of the first two higher education institutions to offer degree programs established by the former Ministry of Foreign Trade. It is hailed as “the cradle for foreign trade professionals in China”.
In 1994, the university was transferred to the administration of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government; in 2009, it became the first China-based university admitted to the WTO Chairs Program; in 2013, it adopted its current name; in 2019, it was certified as a WTO Asia-Pacific Training Center and became the only regional training partner established on the Chinese mainland among the seven WTO training partners; in 2021, it was approved to award doctoral degrees by the Academic Degrees Commission of the State Council and could offer doctoral programs within the top discipline of applied economics; in 2022, it was included in the promotion program of key top universities in Shanghai.
